The app
We don’t ship the app.We keep it honest.
Elitesgen, the app, is built and run by our subsidiary. What the Foundation holds is the part that never shows up in a release note: the promise that it stays free at the core, free of ads, and free of the tricks that turn software against the people using it. This page is about that promise. The app itself lives at elitesgen.com (opens in a new tab).
Why we built it
Connection is not a product. It is a public good.
Loneliness is not a niche problem, and it does not sort itself out. The most useful thing we could build was not a campaign or a clinic. It was a place. Somewhere people could find their people and stay found.
An app was the most honest way to meet people where they already are. Ubuntu, a southern African idea that says I am because we are, is the whole argument. The software is only the room we built to hold it.
What the Foundation guarantees
The promises the app answers to.
These are not features. They are limits, written into the Foundation charter so that no future board, and no amount of money, can quietly switch them off. They hold whether you ever download anything or not. Read all eight commitments →
We don't sell your attention.
No behavioral advertising. No third-party ad networks. The Foundation charter forbids it, so a future board cannot quietly turn it on.
We don't sell your data.
No licensing of individual user data. Aggregated research happens only with explicit opt-in, reviewed by an independent research committee.
We don't optimize for engagement.
We measure wellbeing outcomes, not time in app. Our funders hold us to that every year, on the record.
We don't use dark patterns.
No manufactured urgency. No roach motels. No confirm-shaming. Right to export and right to delete are honored with real work, not a checkbox.
We don't gate the core.
The companion, the communities, the connections, the wellbeing tools: free, forever. Membership tiers recognize people who choose to give. They never gate what matters.
Who builds what
Mission held here. App shipped there.
Elites Generation Foundation holds the mission, the charter, and the commitments. Elitesgen, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary, employs the engineers and runs the servers. It is a deliberate structure: the part that makes promises is kept separate from the part that has to make payroll. Both are bound by the same rules. We explain the whole arrangement under Governance. The app itself, what it does and how to get it, lives at elitesgen.com (opens in a new tab).
